For the purposes of all of MaMA’s Anecdata projects, a dead ash is defined as an ash tree with a dead crown – i.e., if all the branches and shoots off the trunk are dead, the tree should be categorized as dead even if there are living sprouts from the very base of the tree (root collar sprouting).
